Will hotel complain about high power draw?

My brother and I are cooped up in a hotel room for 2-3 months. Other than the limited channels on the TV there isn't much to do. We were thinking of bringing our desktop PCs out of storage and setting them up in the hotel room for gaming. They are gaming PCs so the power draw on them will be high (quadcores, 5870 CF, multiple HDDs, 22"+ lcds). They will only be on for about 4-5 hr during the weekdays but will be more on the weekends.

I doubt it. I've plugged in my laptop, my blackberry, M3 player, 3 fleshlights, a portable fan, and an additional light to read by without any issues.

Are they renovating your house or something? Jusry Duty? What's the deal with being holed up in a hotel for 3 months? :hmm:

Nah, that will be barely a blip on the radar. Think of all the lights, room mini fridges, and phones they have to have on 24/7. If they say something, just move to a different hotel.

Keep your plants on a shortened light-cycle. The yield will be lower, but your power draw wont be so noticeable.

I dont know what you are going to do about the smell in such a confined area though.

Reported to DEA. They will be at your door in 10min. PWNED.

They don't have individual meters on each room, so they will never know.
pretty much... it would have to be large enough of a usage to cause a noticeable spike in the overall bill (at which point a manager might ask the cleaning staff to keep an eye out for anything that looks weird in the occupied rooms)

That's less than a hair dryer.
Except you don't run a dryer for nearly as long as a computer.

Run a 1500W hair dryer for 5 minutes = 0.125kWh

0.125kWh would probably get you about a half hour of computer runtime, depending on the PC of course.
