Why don't you call and ask them?

They may, but be prepared for extra cost.

Home Depit Rents tools...do it youself....

Seriously, there probably not going to do it as they usually don't drill holes in anything as far as I am concerned.

It'll proly cost you only $20

yeah, it is a saw in the shape of a circle. It has a shaft which fits into the drill, like a standard drill bit. Like Dremels.

Inside of drilling a 100mm or so hole, why don't you just punch a bunch of small holes and attach it that way?

Make sure you have a helluva drill for a 120mm hole saw. Get true lexan and not the acrylic. The acrylic isn't strong enough to withstand the torque. It took me a few pieces to learn that bit of information. And keep the lexan clamped down, or at least from moving.

<edit>And as far as the original question. I bet they would put the hole saw on their drill press and drill it for you. Home Depot has never charged me for drilling/cutting wood or plexiglass.</edit>

Yes, like Hayabuser said it goes into a standard electric drill.
I was just looking at some for some work I'm doimg on the downstairs bathroom.
I like the ones with a built in pilot drill, and an adjustable one is probably around $15 at Sears or Home Depot.

if you got a tap plastics around, they'll basically cut anything you want

plexiglass is not easy to work with when all you have is a dremel.. and it ends up looking ugly too

Home Depot will not cut or drill holes in plexi. They will cut it in rectangles though. If you get someone really nice and who knows how to use the machine, other shapes can be made. (I have made a few octagons for octagon windows before on HD's machine for customers who were nice)

Drilling plexi is relitively easy. Just go slow with a holesaw so you do not cut a bigger hole than neccessary. Stop every few seconds and let the bit cool or the plexi will melt. A steady hand is also required if you do not have a drill-press. Also, do not cut within 1" of the edge or other holes. This means drilling the 4 holes for the fan screws after the big 120mm hole.

Interesting. I just cut a piece of Lucite with my Dremel, and I was quite impressed with the results.

They aren't going to cut it or drill it. Borrow a sabre/jigsaw from someone if you don't have one for the sawing part and use the holesaw/drill combo like everyone is saying for the holes.

To keep from marring the surface cover the areas where you want to cut with masking tape about 4 inches wide and draw on the tape the cut lines. This way the foot on the saw will not mar the plastic surface and it will also minimize chipping. I would do the same where you plan to drill the holes also. When you are finished dress the edges with some fine sandpaper to take the "edge off' and leave a smooth attractive appearance.

BTW....use metal cutting blades in the jigsaw....preferable 24 tooth per inch ones.

Good luck
