sucks.

I really don't mind paying the extra couple of dollars to fill up my gas tank, but what I really worry about is the trucking industry. Pretty soon, the increase cost of transporting goods is going to start being passed down to the consumer. It'll probably hurt Walmart the worst.

Can anything hurt walmart? I read an article once talking about how if you don't supply it for a certain price, walmart can always find someone else who is willing to do it at their price. but anyway, that is off topic...what I wanted to ask was if anyone saw that picture of some homemade sign by a freeway that says: We've been there how long and I'm still paying WHAT for gas. While I question the truth of the sign, it's still kinda funny, wish I could find the link in my cache.

yes, gas prices will keep increasing until it gets to be $5.00 a gallon. This will cause the economy to shift to a different energy source, and people to drive less...

...as they won't likely have a job to drive to!

It won't "hurt" them. They will just raise prices to compensate. If they refuse to, in a true attempt to keep prices low, then it certainly will, though.

Wal-Mart may be huge, but I doubt they can control the price of their gasoline. 😉 Even if they get it wholesale, if the price of oil goes up - so does gasoline.

It is funny to hear what people are complaining....I watched a quick snip on the news and they were interviewing a woman who was complaining it was costing her $40-50 to fill up...as she leans on here rather large SUV. Don't get me wrong I have no problem with SUV's or the drivers but don't go out and get one and then b!tch when it costs you and arm and a leg to fill up.

Yeah, thats always on the news here too when gas prices go up.

Some stupid soccer mom is always like "How am I suppose to afford this?" while leaning on an SUV. Uh...if you can't afford the extra gas costs, maybe you should have bought one of the tons of fuel efficient vehicles available? There's no law that says you have to own one of those, and no one made her buy it.

They get no sympathy from me.

The other funny thing is the people always say "I've taken to the tactic of just filling up halfway because it costs so much" Are these people retarded or do they just enjoy inhaling the gas vapors when they fillup and want to go to the station more often? Gas hardly ever goes down in price and if you pulled that move recently hoping for lower prices next week it sure did backfire bigtime!

Maybe they should make SUVs with 12 gallon tanks specifically for these people. "Wow, only $16 to fill the tank and it'll last me 3 days. Sweet!"

Makes me glad I just bought a car that gets 32MPG instead of 18MPG and I'll be moving 3 miles away from work instead of almost 20.

I'll be biking to work 7 months out of the year.

Not many people realize this right here. Costs of a large majority of our produce, and goods will go up as well...not to mention costs for shipping e.g. FedEx, UPS, etc.

This has already begun to occur. If any of you know someone who owns or runs a restaurant, ask 'em about it. The price of all goods is off the wall right now, especially those that need to be refrigerated when shipped. My restaurant just had to raise prices on diinners an average of $1.50 per meal just to be at the profit margin it was last year.

How do they affect your premium? It's raised due to THEM? I didn't know this.
To a great degree of course. Since no insurance company can give a specialized premium to each person based upon a highly detailed analysis of their liklihood to crash, they group them. I pay the same amount as a woman who, some how, has never gotten in an accident although she comes close to it every week. Similarly, an 18 year old very responsible teenager will pay a lot more for insurance because of people like me when we were 18 turning the roads into a race course. The insurance company didn't know I was a race car driver, and didn't know the other guy was very responsible, so it averages and charges us both that rate.

In Arizona? I hope you have a shower at work. I used to bike to work in alabama a distance of no more than 2 miles. I basically was a fvcking mess by the time I got to work. It sucks!

If somebody says that and means it I encourage you to slap them. Only time I'll do that is if I'm in an expensive area and I know that I'll be driving through a cheaper one after. Basically never happens though.

Unless you're in a place that charges $80 per entree, that can't possibly be simply because of an increase in gas cost.

My company hits our customers with a fuel surcharge. We've had it since 2002, when prices spiked shortly back then.

It'll get cheaper right before the election.

Yep, just like the Iraqi war will be over right before then, Osama will be caught right before then, 2 Million new jobs will be created right before then, the stock market will be back over 11K right before then,......

As the price of oil continues to go up more supplies should become available. But yes eventually the price of gas will hit $5.00 a gallon.

<---- 43,000th post 😉

Night everyone.

In the olden days, we used to bring to kids along in the little Red Wagon. Hanld eof wagon was tied to the back of a bike. Kid plus 2-4 bags of groceries.

Just get a small utility cart and attach it to the back of the scooter.
