Just used 3 Floppies to do a NT 4 install last night...

And I use them for boot disks in my Netware class at school.

in my office we still have a few computers that have 5 1/2 inch floppy drives and we still use them! All the office's important data from the early 80s was backed up on 5 1/2 floppy disks... thousands of them. the problem is, no one want to take the time to load all those disk onto to the server.. so they just sit there in storage. And when some needs data from the time period, they need to use the 5.5 inch floppy drive. It really, really sucks.

I have a CDRW, an Iomega Zip 100, and a floppy drive. I use the CDRW a lot, the Zip drive some, and the floppy never; however, I know that the moment I take out the floppy drive, someone will give me a floppy with some important information on it. :(

Nope. Floppy drives are the cockroaches of the computing world. Long after we implant onchip computer systems into our brains, the floppy will continue to be installed, probably into our chests.

My cs teacher told us to use disks to save our programs and bring home/to school. I said f*ck it and saved to an ftp and I do it that way.

Our computers at work got upgraded to 1 ghz Pentiums with CD burners. Unfortunately, we still have a lot of test equipment in the engineering lab that uses 3.5" disks. Now, we all put in requisitions for floppy disk drives.
