Why the hell would flags be at half staff? At least here in the US.

IE, religious figure vs political figure. Seperation of church and state.

Hmm the flags were at half staff for the tsunami victims. The Pope is an important international figure, and well the flags are already at half staff, atleast some of them.

why would our flags be half mast? he's not an american citizen and this isn't a national disaster to any country.

edit: I guess we should just fly our flags at half mast year round to make sure we don't miss anyone now eh?
