Will Final Fantasy VII ever be remade?

i played the game for an hour and hated it
i hope they never remake it
and there are much larger classics out there to remake first

FF7 was prob the best FF game I played, not sure I'm willing to call it the greatest though. For starters, they should do something about that annoying random meaningless battle thing that happens every 2 seconds you walk somewhere

I liked FF10 more then FF7, but I think that FF2 or FF3 was the best in the series. After FF7 the games started to feel like a long movie that you got to play once in a while.

That's been the point of FF since 4. Do you really think Square kept making the games because the fans enjoyed the riveting ATB system? People play them for the characters and story.

you liked FFX?!?!

i stopped playing it when i saved, went through a cutscene that required me to smash the buttons until my fingers were raw for an hour, and let me save again.

7 and 9 were my favorites.

/still rather see TIE Fighter or XvsT modernized.

If they make it, they should tweak it so that it's not entirely the same. I for one want them to make it. It's just like Zelda, some hit or miss, but at least they keep trying.

i doubt we'll see a FF7 remake.

i can't wait for the FF3 remake for the DS (in 3D!) and FF6 for GBA!

We need TIE Fighter remade for modern systems.

FFVII is by far my favorite game. I have it for PC and PS1. IF they remake it for PS3 I will prob blow the money on the PS3 just to play it. It wasn't necessarily the game play that got me but more of the story line. I have yet to find a game with a better story.
(having 2 master summons and a full knights of the round was a lot of fun too 🙂) I wish they had put in more challenging bosses like the Omega Weapon from FFVIII though.

FF8 is definitely my favorite. no questions asked.

btw, i have FF7 and FF8 for both PC and PSX (non greatest hits hehe), and under 2000/XP, ff8 runs fine. but for some reason, ff7 never works. it always crashes/never runs. any idea on how to fix this? one of the real reasons i never finished ff7. and now i cant play the psx version of it because my ps2 got stolen.

I have never played FF7. I refused to play it at the time because Square abandoned Nintendo; I haven't played it since because so many fanboys have gigantic hardons for it and annoy me about it.

The only FF I've played in the "modern" era is 9. 10 and the ones afterwards, brand loyalty and fan boy hatred weren't my reasons for avoiding them, they just looked like ass.

I remember when Final Fantasy VIII come out I didn't understand that Final Fantasy games were not sequels to each other.

I was pissed.

POX ON FFVIII!

Not the best FF but most successful I'd say. I would definitely like to see them remake both FFVI and FFVII, however.

I remeber almost beating FF7 for the first time and somehow my memory card got reformatted. I have to say that I wasn't a bit mad that I had to replay the whole game over. Every aspect of the game is good.
jet moto should be remade too.

Judging for how long this has stayed on the first page of ATOT, I'd say Square-Enix has the opportunity to cash in on something Nintendo has a huge share of, Nostalgic gamers.

The greatest game EVAR?

Will it see life anew on PS3?

Would you buy it, and more importantly love it forever?

it's not even the best final fantasy, let alone the best game 'EVAR'

i think you never played final fantasy games prior to playstation

I've heard this argument many times, and in most cases it's not true. I've played (or attempted to) every FF game made so far except FF X-2. 1-5 are basically unplayably bad. 1-3 have no interesting storyline to speak of, and 1 is so insanely difficult it's really not much fun. 4 has something of a storyline but not enough to keep my attention. 5 was just lame. 6 is great, and I'm not sure which I liked more, 6 or 7...

again, i think you never played final fantasy games before FF7.

4 had the best story line. 6 had a decent one, but the fact that the main character kept leaving (and then came back sucky) made the game a notch below 4 in my book.

Certainly not the best FF, but it was the most memorable, most enjoyable and most popular to play. It seems to be the FF all others are compared to. I've played all of the FF except the online one, and FF7 was still more enjoyable to me for some reason. It was simple and I loved the "mime" materia, having everyone repeat a 4x slash kicked major @ss. Still remembered how amazed I was the first time I saw Cloud's Omnislash as well.

BTW, this game for the PS is selling for VERY high prices right now on eBay since its OOP. People are shelling out >$100 for the original (not the greatest hits one) sealed...:Q

BTW, I thought FF2 was the best.

are you kidding? i just sold my original copy of FFVII the other week and it only got like $15 on bid.

i don't get the fanatacism of this game. it was a good game but damn people. FF1 is probably my favorite.

What is based on FFVII besides the game and the Advent Children movie?

There is a PS2 title, PSP title, and a cell phone RPG. I may be missing one, not sure.

Same here. I remember buying a Voodoo2 back in high school just to play this game. 4MB video acceleration FTW!

Me too! The one and only time I paid real money for a video card, I still had it running until about three months ago, too.
