Will eating my meals later in the day help me gain weight?

I've been trying to put on some weight for a couple months now (I'm not horribly skinny but I could use some extra meat on my bones) - I eat like a pig, but I was thinking, I always eat my meals, especially dinner, quite early (like 5:00 PM dinner early).

Would eating dinner later, say around 7:00 or 7:30 help me gain weight? I was thinking that eating dinner so early gave me more time during the day to burn off whatever I eat, in contrast to eating later in the day and having a couple hours less to burn off what I ate (and thus gain). What do you think? Hope this makes sense to you all 🙂

Eating more calories is the best way to put on weight. No way should a 5pm or even a 7:30pm dinner be your last meal of the day.

Dinner is rarely ever the last thing I eat every day.. I'm usually always eating something - Im sure my caloric intake is probably double what it should be - I just may be screwed with a quick metabolism

It doesen't matter. If you want to gain weight, there is only one way you can do so.. calories.

Also, carbohydrates are your friend.

Supposedly eating before bed will cause you to gain weight. I believe it has to do with the food sitting in your stomach all night, since you're not moving around.

That's what I was going to say. Eat yourself a whole box of Mac n Cheese right before you lay down for bed 🙂.

Be careful what you wish for...

-OR-

Enjoy it while it lasts...

Take your pick!

I used to be able to eat whatever, whenever and not gain weight. Not anymore. At some point my metabolism decided to slow down, and I didn't alter my eating habits until it was too late. Now I have some extra inches around the mid-section that I would sorely like to get rid of once and for all.

I would kill (not literally) to have a quick metabolism again.
