Will E5200/7200/7300 CPU work in Gigabyte P965-S3 v1?

Yeah, I saw that, but those are listed as supported in the v3.3 board and they take the same BIOS.

I know the v3.3 board has 1333 FSB and perhaps some additional memory tweaking possibilites, but afaik, the processors I mentioned require only 800 or 1066 FSB which are supported by the v1 board.

So, what else is there...considering that the CPU ID should be added by the F13 BIOS since it is the same BIOS for the v3.3 board where they seem to be supported?

You are correct, looks like on paper, at least, the only difference between the two is the FSB1333 support:

However, looks like it would be a bit of a gamble to try one of the unsupported processors in the v1 board--there may have been some physical changes to the board i.e. board traces, resistors/voltages, etc.....since the Gigabyte web site makes a clear distinction between the v1 and v3.3 boards, I would guess that either those CPUs won't work in the v1 board, or, would be unstable in some way.

I'm trying to find out if the new E0 stepping for the E8400 will work on a 965P-S3 rev. 3.3?

I don't see why not. seems the board is capable doing the FSB as well as outputing the volts. All the N/A seems to be 1333->1600 FSB range, could this just be an official limit of 1066? I know this board can do 400FSB+. If you look at QX6800 (supported, G0, FSB1066) vs QX6850 (unsupported, G0, FSB1333). the FSB seems to be the only difference. So I venture a guess that all the supported can be used but you literally have to OC to use them.
