Actually, it wasn't his "choice." He wasn't asked back b/c he was such a f*&king prick on the set. I think he feuded with most everyone there and he was being a cocky bastard. His co-star (the chick from The Avengers) absolutely despised him. I've got to watch the behind the scenes/documentary thing on the OHMSS DVD again, but I think that's what happened.

Of the Pierce Brosnan movies I definitely liked Goldeneye the best overall. I also enjoyed Tomorrow Never Dies a lot, but that was mostly because I enjoyed the Chinese girl kicking as much (if not more) butt than Bond. The overall plot for that one was only average.

The World is Not Enough just flat out sucked. The overall plot and storyline was VERY boring and Denise Richards, while attractive in a wet t-shirt with the audio muted (ala Wild Things), did the worst job of acting in a Bond movie since Kristina Wayborn in Octopussy. Richards absolutely ruined what was already a rather bad Bond film. The only good thing to come out of the World is Not Enough is that Q made a graceful exit (all the more touching since he died shortly thereafter) and that John Cleese was appointed his successor.

Forgot to add that this one should at the very least be better than the last. And that Halle Berry (woohoo) also brings actual acting talent to the table . . . not that you need Academy Award winning acting for Bond films 😉 You just don't need characters delivering their lines with all the charisma of a cardboard cutout which is what Richards did in the last flick.

Amen. I like the occasional BMW, but for my money, Aston Martin is always THE manufactuer of Bond cars.
