Will DDR memory be worth it with SMP Athlon/Duron systems?

Do you think that SMP AMD systems will perform better with DDR memory to the point where DDR is seen as a requirenment? Or will SDR memory continue to be a viable option for SMP users?

I suppose it will also depend on what you want to use your system for, servers and video editing machines have different needs than gaming rigs. :)

DDR is already an affordable option for Athlons, and definitely puts a dent in the memory bandwidth benchmarks.

I can only imagine it'll be just as sweet in an SMP arrangement.

Its built around DDR so why would SDR even be consider on 760MP (correct me if i am wrong but isn't the board only accepting registered DDR memory?)

The AMD760 chipset is DDR only. If they are making a SMP version of this chipset, I would be saddened and upset (I already bought DDR in anticipation, hehe) if DDR isn't an option.

Bringing in SDR support seems like extra, unnecessary work, especially since the DDR piece isn't officially out of the door.

SDR doesn't have enough bandwidth for one 1.5gHz Athlon let alone two. I think RAMBUS would be an even better option for multiple ATHLONs. Yes, even RAMBUS has its uses.
