Hello,

Specifically, I have an abit kx7-333 board. Will the new 166fsb chips be supported?

VIA has just announced that the KT333 chip itself can do it. The remaining questions are: Does your particular mainboard's layout cope with the higher frequency? Does the clock synthesizer chip on the board support the correct combination of clocks? Does the mainboard's BIOS support the CPU and clock mode?

regards, Peter

Epox 8K5A series do. :) This includes the 8K5A2, 8K5A2+ and the 8K5A3+. I believe the older *K3A series, the 8K3A and the 8K3A+ do as well. MSI's KT3 Ultra 2 does as well. :)

My Epox 8K3A+ runs 166MHz FSB all day long. I know that your KX7-133 can do the same thing.
So, in short, the answer is yes.

Of bigger concern to me is that the max (non-OC'ed) theoretical speed for KT333 boards is 2.66GHz or 166*16.
