Will Claw/sledge Hammer be SocketA?

I'm thinking of skipping socketA altogether if Claw will be something different, just get a 900TBird at 10x110Mhz and 256MB more RAM and run with that for a while. I don't need/want DDR for at least 6 months yet, probably more. I intended to wait until all the bugs are hammered out. I think I'd be pretty happy with a 900-1100Mhz Range SlotA TBird, 384MB PC100 2-2-2 RAM and I'll get a DX8 video card (Nv20 or Rampage) in may or so, I think I should be set for a while.
Hell I'm still pretty happy with my voodoo3 and 550.
(I want to try and pick up a SlotA TBird before they are all vanished, I don't need faster than 550 yet)
 
Does it matter? Palomino and Morgan are the CPUs we will use, Hammer series is very much a server CPU. And Both Palomino and Morgan should be Socket A.
 
Sledgehammer is a server CPU, clawhammer is the desktop version. I heard a rumour somewhere that claw would be available in 2001. And i'm ok with a 900Mhz TBird SlotA and PC100 RAM for a year. I've had my 550 since january and i'm still happy with it.
