I want to change my Amd R290, Nvidia 2070 seems to fit the bill. But there are like 4-5 brands and each has 4-5 models for 2070. I 'm not sure what I should be looking for. I will be playing on 1440p-144hz monitor.
Which brand/model should I go for? I like a high quality build with good guarantee.

RTX 2070 is the worst card you can get, its only 17% faster than the RTX 2060, but costs upwards of 35% more, yet its 30% slower than the RTX 2080 for just 30% less money.

What you are saying is, that both RTX2070 and RTX2080 have same performance/price and the RTX2060 is just better in this regard. This does not make the RTX2070 a worse buy than the RTX2080. It only means that if you are willing to pass on 17% performance you will get a bettet deal as far as performance/price is concerned.

The point is that its the least value in terms of perf/price out of the RTX 2060 and RTX 2080, though both the 2070 and 2080 suck major ass in terms of value.

You are better off getting a RTX 2060 for 30% less and just 17% less, or wait for a deal on a 2070 so you can snap it $40-50 dollars cheaper.

Ok . Makes sense.

Vega 56 also is getting discounts. Maybe that's agood buy too, until new AMD gpu's are out that maybe enough ?

Vega 56 isn't at the same level as the 2070, so even though the price is good, it won't quite hit the same performance tier. I don't know if the price drop is permanent or how long it would last, so if it is something you'd consider buying, you might want to act fast.

Vega 56 is actually slightly slower than the RTX 2060, about 2% on average, though for $280 its worth it, but as Mopetar said the current price discounts may only be temporary.

RTX 2070 is just terrible value, as it offers only 17% more performance over the 2060, but at a 32% higher cost. The jump to 2080 is 30% in price as well, but around 25% performance improvement over the 2070. Though as I said both are terrible value as of right now, unfortunately due to lack of competition.
