I don't disagree with you regarding the air power.. not one bit. however, we need more teams than we currently have. regular troops wont cut it.Originally posted by: JohnOfSheffield

I can confirm that I have seen links on yahoo news basically saying this decision to put US boots on the ground and use air power in the tribal areas of Pakistan came from GWB himself. And as such,
its a palehorse and JOS wet dream come true, because this is exactly what they have been advocating for at least two years.
Will this decision lead to the capture of Ossama Bin Laden, is Ossama even alive, will this decision badly backfire, and questions like that are indeed way above the pay grade of my crystal ball.
But a few points to make.
1. This is an rather abrupt policy shift by GWB&co. And yes, it may be cynical electioneering. The longer terms consequences may be borne by our future President.
2. Or alternately, it could result in the Capture of Ossama Bin Laden and Al Zawarhi. Or it could result in a US defeat before the election, with world wide condemnation of US and Nato tactics resulting in an offer they cannot refuse of Yankee go home with an admixture of hang down your head Tom Dooley, because the world is tired of Tom Foolery.
3. Or it could just kick the can further down the road, with Pakistani and Afghan public opinion increasing anti Nato and anti US.
I still feel that this policy is not very smart, now it looks like palehorse and JOS are going to have their ideas put to the 55 day test. And JOS and palehorse, you better stand and deliver, because if you fail, you will not prevail in the arena of rational ideas.
Yes, I'm very happy to see the ball finally start rolling in the right direction. But,
I'll let you know when to start the real timer...
"finally"?
And i disagree, we need more planes and less bullsheit, i really can do with less bullsheit and having to go back because there is nothing i can do about it.
Actually it's hard to say i disagree because we need more specialists all around but without planes, we're not going to have much impact in these areas right now.
Now nests or single groups in a village, that's where we do better work, in strongholds as it's mostly about now, we need more planes in the air, helios are not that great for this.

55 days and counting, tick tick tick. Quite frankly I do not give a damn about JOS's remaining length of deployment, nor do I consider JOS the enemy, the question is and remains, is what JOS advocates wise or
stupidity. Blame not JOS, when GWB&co empowers those who will screw the pooch yet again.
Cheer up JOS, your ideas and my ideas are going to be put to the acid test of results.
My warning lost, your side won, now the onus is still on your side to deliver results.

More SOF boots and increased air support.... sounds great to me!

wtf is with this 55-day nonsense?
AFAIC, we should throw our entire box of "crayons" at the problem and get it the fuck over with already...Originally posted by: JohnOfSheffield
If we don't get enough to support us, more boots isn't going to help, but if we do, then i wouldn't mind spotting some purple or greens in the area.![]()

Getting it the fuck over with is a great idea, i'm doing my best.
This place needs more purple, definently needs more purple, too little purple.
Black would be wasted, green though, that would be nice, especially to the east.

At this point, his value is merely as a bogey-man for the GOP to scare their simple-minded base into voting for them.
Speaking of simple minded people. At least you're starting your 9/11 material off well.

Sorry Charlie palehorse, this is no longer about me sitting in my basement, this is all about you and all about GWB&co. Fact is, you won and I lost the public policy debate, the USA is going to invade the tribal areas of Pakistan. Fats is in the fire.
Confukingraduations, palehorse, now you better make good your promises.
That is and remains the bottom line.
I do not have to do jack dooley now, the onus is now on you to deliver on your promises.
