Will Bonds be booed when he reaches and passes Babe Ruth?

he'll get booed. i personally don't care either way if he's using or not. i pay to watch entertainers entertain me...if they destroy themselves in the process then that's their personal choice. and this "think of the children" argument just illustrates how much America attempts to pussify the young from the womb.

He'll take days off so that it coincides with a home game. There's no way they'll let him break any records outside of SF.

All season 50% of their games are on the road.

its called homestands or roadtrips where most of the games in a given time are at home or on the road, but the first couple weeks, they are home for a series and then away for a series

You know I laugh when people talk about Babe Ruth. He played in era and in a league when the best baseball players alive were not allowed to play. But yet he is held in this like god like esteem. Its a damn joke. Babe a great power hitter huh? He couldn't pick the grass from Josh Gibson's cleats.

Hopefully an injury takes him out permanently before it does happen. Mac, Bonds, Sosa, Palmeiro, and their ilk have no place in the Hall of Fame, or in the record books.

He's better than Bonds, that's for damn sure.

I love how you take out your class/race envy issues on Babe Ruth as if he's at fault. I mean hate. I hate it.

At what? If Bonds played against all the no name, part-time milkman, grocery clerks, and postman type players like Ruth played against, he would have numbers out of this world. I find it a joke for people to keep talking about Ruth like he's some baseball god. Its easy to look good against inferior talent.

This is not about race moron. Its about fact. Facts are that the talented players back then were not in MLB. There were no blacks, latinos, or dominicans back then. Add to the fact many players were not even professional athletes either. And my dig on Ruth is not about Ruth, but the idiots who idolize a player who faced inferior players. Its like me saying Tony Graziani is the greatest QB of alltime. Get a clue

It's equally ridiculous and as much of a joke to compare and guess at what players from this day and age would do against picthers from the first half of the twentieth century.

You're using fallacious logic, and you know it.

If the pitching in Babe Ruth's era was so terrible, then how come his home run record stood for more than 30 years??

I could say, using your logic, that Babe Ruth could've had even more homers than he did had he played in this current era of the juiced ball and the juiced ball-player, with pitching talent spread as thin as a pancake across the league-- as Bonds has.

Genious statement of the year.

"looks like 50% chance it will be outside San Fran."

aren't HALF the games at home and HALF of the games away? lol 😕

Not a dig on Ruth? Like how you say "he couldn't pick the grass from Josh Gibson's cleats"? Ruth is famous for hitting homeruns... is there something I don't know? Have the size of baseball fields changed significantly in the past 80 years? I don't give a damn about baseball, but from how I see it hitting a homerun was no easier back then than it is now.

Maybe it stood so long because the pitching Ruth faced of the milkman and farmer of those days sucked. Even I look like Jordan on the court when I am playing by myself or my wife 😛
