Will bondo be my solution for this damage?

Some curb damage basically pushed the metal in about 2 inches on the passenger rocker panel.

Would bondo be my best solution? Since paint is so expensive, I could probably get both rocker panels painted black so I dont have to worry about a crappy paint job.

Or is it possible to replace rocker panels relatively easy? <- Although the paint would still be the problem....



I know how to apply bondo and sand it and what not, just wondering if it would be useful in this application.

2 inches of bondo is a no-go.

If you do go the bondo route get som with fiber in it. It won't crack as easy.

You're going to want to pull it out and skim it with body filler. That much bondo is screaming "I will fall out as soon as you hit a pothole."

I can get new rockers for my MR2 for less than $100 from the dealer...that might be worth looking into as well.

I can't see the pics here at work, but if this is for the Camaro in your sig, body parts for those things are a dime a dozen. Find out where the junk yards are in your area and go get new panels. Should cost you about $50-$100 per side.

Bondo is supposed to be used for filling SLIGHT imperfections and such. Not to make entire panels and span gaps with.

The part will not be costly. It will be the installation that will take up time and money. A lot of rocker panels are welded in place, so you would need to cut out the old one, fit and trim the new one, weld it in and then paint it.
