If you want a PS3 what's stopping you? The new 250g matte 360's are out now bundling in Halo Reach and Fable 3 for $300, but with Sony slashing the price of the PS3 to $250 you could just as easily get the system and two top notch greatest hits titles for the same amount of cash. Otherwise, wait until black friday. Who knows, Sony could offer a holiday bundle of their own. Best Buy can offer some good deals sometimes. I got a 360 with a $75 gift card to buy whatever the hell games I wanted when they were running the promotion back in September. Just be sure to shoot down their reps on all the odds and ends.

I'm also trying to do my best to wait until Black Friday or something. Then I can at least hope for a good deal on what I'm looking to buy, but man I really want me some Console RPG's. Then again I'll have Skyrim to tide me over for a while too...

...Why? Seriously, why? Console RPG's this gen have been pretty junk unless you're talking Western RPG's. Most of those have been better on PC anyways.

I guess it boils down to the games you like. Which games, specifically, do you want to play?

Matter of opinion. You don't like console RPGs? Then you obviously have no reason to play them. I, on the other hand, grew up playing console RPG's and have felt very left out since the departure from my PS2.

Yes they do. I just bought $100 in Amazon gift cards a couple of weeks ago using a $100 BB gift card I got in the $299 PS3 deal. They were with the tablets and have Amazon Kindle on the front but you can use them for anything on Amazon.

Please, don't misunderstand. I LOVE console RPG's. My collection is pretty ridiculous. It's just that this gen has been rather lacking compared to past gens IMO and if I had to choose with a gun to my head I would probably go for a handheld. However my opinion is also a bit 'tainted' because the gen just got off to a really slow start but things are decent now. That said.

Dark Souls and Demon's Souls are both AMAZING games. I will just put it out there that I agree with WAHP's assessment and would play Dark Souls *before* Demon's Souls if I hadn't played them both already. It's just more refined and there are actual strategy guides out there to point you in the right direction. Those two plus Disgaea 4 (3 was a bit lacking, IMO) and Valkyria Chronicles easily warrant a PS3 purchase. I wouldn't worry about Vesperia (awesome but doesn't warrant a 360 purchase on it's own) as Xillia is coming over and it's widely agreed overseas that it's the best Tales yet. Plus you've have Ni No Kuni coming up. I played the DS game and it was good but not amazing. The PS3 version apparently includes the entire DS game, picks up where it ends, and then tacks on about 30% more story. I'm rather looking forward to it, myself.

Sorry, just my two cents. It would appear that there are quite a few games for PS3 that you enjoy so you will definitely get your money out of the purchase.

However I would still suggest looking into a PSP (with CFW) or VITA down the line. With the video out function they work like miniature consoles and there are a lot of straight up awesome titles to be had. It would appear our tastes overlap quite a bit and I have rather enjoyed both my PS3 and PSP so you really can't go wrong either way.

I think this man makes a damn good argument. Though I personally care little for Modern Warfare or Battlefield games, I hear they're pretty well liked. And of course I'm drooling over Skyrim myself.

I've spent my time with the PSP already.

I have a PC, so Skyrim will be gotten on there I'll wait on BF3 and screw MW3.

As I said, main purpose is for fueling my RPG desires (and some cool looking PS exclusives) :wub::wub::wub:

They do, in $20 increments. What it is is really a "Kindle GC for ebooks" but you can just constantly add GC's to your account to create a +balance to spend on anything.

If you're saving for BF, I would wait to convert them until the BF deals are revealed. BB might have a good deal you want to jump on.
