Will AX-7's fit on a Tiger MP?

If you are not going to overclock the processors, you may want to consider picking up two SVC GC68s. I've got four of them across my two dual XP mobos. Work great and they are quiet.

I also use the GC's as well with my Tyan Tigers and they are good. But I'll be moving over to the Retail MP HSF that are bundled with the 2600+ MP.

But that wouldn't make much sense if he isn't overclocking it. Adding aftermarket heatsinks to a stock setup to trim off 3-5 degrees in tempeture while spending over 30$ a heatsink isn't exactly a wise choice. Spending 60$ to gain 5 degrees less in tempeture in @ stock speed? Verse what the AX-7's cost @ 17$ or less. Or even 9$ for the Dyntron Tbred HSF that come with the AMD retail product. Not much of a gain with aftermarket parts.

The purpose of using a larger aftermarket cooler is so you can put a larger frame, low RPM fan on each CPU and stay sane. 🙂 Temps on the end are about the same if not a few degrees cooler than stock coolers minus the whine. Well worth a few bucks IMO.

Cheers!

These are only duron 1.3's, no overclocking, but the issue is that I have little cheapo coolers for them that came with very loud 7000rpm 60mm fans which I immediately removed and tie-strapped on some 80mm fans. They work fine, but one cpu is 50c and the other is 58c, so obviously I need some bettter heatsinks, as these ones are itty bitty 😛, and summer is coming up and sometimes it gets warm in here before we turn on the A/C.

The ax-7's are only $17 at svc (look in hot deals), that's why I'm getting them.

I used to have the same exact tempetures with my dual 1.3 Durons. The way how i fixed it was by adding more positive pressure to the GC68 heatsinks. But the sockets are that close where your tempetures will always keep increasing no matter what. If you're getting those temps while your idle. it's something wrong with your whole system setup not just the coolers.

I don't think so, these are very *small* and very *cheap* coolers. They keep an *ok* temp with their 7000rpm 60mm fans. These 80mm fans are both slow and quiet. Plus, that temp was taken when it was alot warmer the other day.

Well I was just explaining from my experience based on the AX-7 thread i linked you too. Nothing was fact. Carry on.
