Will AT&T replace dead iPhone?

I work nights and use my iPhone at work quite a bit. Last night, it was displaying very odd battery life behavior. The percentage kept jumping up and down. I got the low battery warning 5 times, but then it would go back up above 20% after a bit. Finally it just died completely. It's been "charging" for half an hour now, and it still will not turn on. I'm planning on taking it to the AT&T store later today, but does anyone know if they will replace a phone that I bought online from Apple at their store, or if I have to go to the Apple store? I really hope I can do it at AT&T because the nearest Apple store is pretty far away.

Edit: Apparently it takes 45 minutes for a dead iPhone to charge.

For the record, ATT stores will not replace iphones. At least the ones out here won't. We had to drive to an apple store. And we bought our iphones from the att store.

Yes, this is one of the biggest hassles about the iPhone. AT&T won't do anything to fix them. Half the time they don't even know when recalls have happened. I went into my local AT&T store to get the 3GS at launch, and they didn't even know that the power adapters from the 3G has EVER been recalled. Good job AT&T.

I hear what you're saying, but I don't think that's just the case with the iphone ... i suspect if there was a recall with an LG product, Samsung, etc .. ATT would be just as blind to that. Let's just be happy that we can take our iphones to a local store to have them replaced .. i had a phone that died when I was with sprint, and I had to send it in and to wait for a replacement. With my 3G i was in and out of the apple store in 15min when I had it replaced.
