Hello all,

After searching the web for a few days, I decided to let you experts on hardware answer this (since I can't find it! :p)...Will and LPX motherboard work without the LPX riser (riser includes only expansion PCI and/or ISA slots)...

I don't need the expansion and don't want to buy the board if I have to use the riser card. The board is an Intel RU430HX ...Can't find anything stating that I DO have to have the riser or if I can run without it.

Thanks in advance all!!!

Do you have a link to an example of an LPX form factor?

I've seen many a form factor but have never seen this one. Sounds interesting. If its like the NLX standard then the risers come with the case.

"ARE NEEDED" could be to make a complete system....the riser card is only for PCI and ISA expansion...I've seen other form factors (NLX) run without the riser card, but I'm not sure about this one and don't waste money on this if it won't work...

It's not going into a standard case either :)

Thanks for the replies...I'll look around for something cheap and "SMALL" ;)

If I had to make a guess, it would no.
I seriously don't think the riser is required. Like you said, it only has the PCI slots on it.
But for $19, it's not too expensive of a test anyway.
