NOX,

FYI, the posts you linked to on SI are from people who are investors of Intel, AMD, both and neither. BTW, it's a good place to talk about computer hardware, especially CPU / chipsets / memory / benchmarks / roadmaps etc.

Dennis,

The one thing I am wondering about all of this is, What if the P4 DOES really beat the current AMD processor in every benchmark and Anand reports that? Will he be called a liar and paid off by Intel?

Suppose P4 beats Athlon in 6 out of 30 benchmarks, and the reviewer reports only the 6 where P4 was faster and not the 24 where it was slower, then absolutely, I would question the credibility of the reviewer, and I am sure so would you.

Or if there is a test the reviewer never used but started to use it for P4, and P4 was faster on that test than the competition, which was my original point.

<< They know the P4 is slow clock for clock. >>

How do you know that Intel knows this? Can you please back-up your statements with factual material, such as a link to a credible hardware review site that has done a thorough review of the P4. And when I mean credible, I mean someone like Anands, Tom?s, Ace?s etc?and not some, Oh?I got these benchmarks of a P4 from a reliable source stuff!

<< They have to manipulate the benchmarks the reviewers use to more closely match the ones the put up on their website. >>

Ok, I've read a few places taht Dell was submitting a P4 to pcmag for comparison with the Micron 1.2 GHz DDR and they pulled it when they found out the results - I will look for that snibet, but I'm pretty sure that somebody else around here has read it as well.

I agree with jhalada on the SPECview thing - I too would appreciate the winzip and winrar benchmarks, and maybe some SETI@Home or RC5 (I'm not too familiar with either of these - but they seem to place ultimate importance on the CPU)

This website is obviously not making him rich, or he probably wouldn't still be in college and working 80 hours a week. I have no factual information on this statement, but this would seem to be a logical conclusion to draw. If somebody has his income tax return, and would like to prove me wrong, please do so.

Don't worry, jhalada-Anand P4 review will not affect AMD stock performance in any way.

Now-stop trolling and leave.

Leon
