Will an Opteron work in my Abit KN8 Ultra?

This is my KN8 Ultra:

I'm really considering getting an Opteron 165, 170, or 180 from newegg(haven't made up my mind yet), and I really like the Opterons. I now realize that my BIOS is BIOS 10 and that I'll probably need to flash the BIOS, and I went onto the ABIT website, and I found that they had this program called Flashmenu, which is supposed to flash the BIOS by itself, doing the work for me. My question is, before I use it, is Flashmenu a safe tool to use to flash the BIOS, or will I be running the risk of ruining the motherboard or something?

This is the Flashmenu that I'm talking about.

Here are instructions for manually flashing your BIOS: link, but that seems to be what you're scared of doing. After downloading the newest BIOS for your board: link, you could always download and install WinFlash, and let it do the work for you.

And what is the probability of ruining the motherboard or having something mess up with Flashmenu?

What do you mean by "safe"?

Have you ever ruined a motherboard by flashing the BIOS? The flash memory is socketed for easy removal in the rare event of a bad flash.

So you're scared to use the Abit approved method for flashing the BIOS on an Abit board? Or do you have a problem with following Abit's instructions?

I have no problem with following Abit's instructions. The problem is that I've googled Flashmenu and saw that some people using it had some problems with it(although they were with Abit NFS-7, or whatever the Athlon XP Abit mobo was), so I'm rather wary about using flashmenu before I know for sure that it's safe to use.

So, are my fears unfounded and exaggerated, or should I not use Flashmenu?

And what will I all have to do when I clear the CMOS?
