For those of you that have this printer will an HP 4M Plus Take a 32mb Simm? I as because it says it has a 32mb max and hp only sells 16mb for it

The Laserjet 4M Plus has 4mb of onboard memory and 4 simm slots that take up to 16mb simms each they do not need to be installed in pairs (they are 72pin propritery ram) so in theory the 4M plus can have 68mb of on board ram if all the slots are fill w/ 16mb simms plus the on board memory here is a list from HP's site of their part numbers and the upgrade info Memory upgrade informantion hope this helps.... 🙂

so what does the 32mb maximum memory on that page mean? Sorry that i'm a newb with these things

Also what does postcript do? I have the add-on module but still havent figured out what it does

The LJ4-MP had an available Postscript implementation in hardware that used up one of the four RAM slots, so with that module in place, it accepted less total RAM. It was my understanding that it wouldn't accept larger size RAMs, however. I can't recall the limit, but my LJ4MP has to be one of the best computer hardware purchases I ever made. No trouble from it in the six-eight years I've owned it., and I've done a LOT of printing with it.
