Will adding more ram into a NB decrease battery life?

Just wanted to know. I want performance, but I also like portability. OHh and I love my new toshiba tablet m205-s810.

No. It means less accessing the hard disk, which has moving parts... and draws a fair amount of power. More ram means more disk cache and the drive can spin down more.

I think he ment "more RAM mean *less* disk caching (virtual memory)" which = less drain on the battery 🙂

No, more caching. More data accessed from ram rather than from disk. Less swapping, more caching.

Adding more sticks of RAM does consume more power, but as CTho9305 said having more RAM will result in less disk access giving you slightly longer battery life.
