I am planning to by A7N8X-VM/400 MoBo. The mobo specs on site says, it
supports UltraATA 133/100. I currently have 2 harddisks
1. Seagate Medalist 4GB (Model ST34321A)
2. Seagate 10GB (Model ST310212A)

Seagate site says, these are UltraATA-3 models. Will the harddisks work
with the mobo?

Thank you

Looking at the MB model proposed, which has a GF 3 MX 440 equivalent (or similar) built into it, I would say this is a very lowball route proposed here that is only expected to be an incremental upgrade, so the small, old, and slow hard drives will be no particular detriment.

Very right Kiwi. doing this upgrade on a very tight budget. Was planning for A7N8X-E-Delux, which doesnt have an IGP. But realised that , my existing Asus AGP-V3400TNT-TV is not supported by the mobo, and would require a new card. And a lowest end card like GF4MX440 would set me back by 3000INR (Well its a big money here :( )....and also i dint have much time in hand to do research for finding a gud value card with performance, as my existing system is dead......

Any suggestions on gud card?

Also, if later I add a graphic card. it will free my memory resources used by IGP, is this right?

Thank you desy for the input.....will get the tubeless tires for my new ferrari in second round of upgrade in short time :D

Yeah ur mobo does support those hard-disks. ANd btw an mx-440 AGP-8x costs 1800-2000INR which is a measly sum. A Barracuda 80Gb only costs 3000INR, and honestly it isn't expensive at all.......

hey thermalpaste, where wld i get a mx440 for 2k. In mumbai?

ofcourse its a lowend card, so instead, i can go for A7N8X-Vm/400 with IGP which can be upgraded to a better card later. wut say?

any thoughts?
I am planning to buy the mobo tomm...
