yep i put my 7000B AlCu in, it fits. the backplate that supplied with 7000B has the same form factor as the stock one (same size of opening area) so it won't crush any of the resistors at the back. it shouldn't be a worry

No, it wont work with DFI's backplate.
Contact Zalman for the backplate.
Read my post above for the email.

Thanks. I already mailed Zalman yesterday, but no answer till now. Ok, a little impatient ;). The other thing, I can't believe that they would ship this plate to Germany ...
We'll see.

So, if you buy a 7000, you have to make sure it comes with a backplate, or what?

I don't think the 7000 series come with a backplate. The backplate is included when you buy a 939 mobo. I had the Asus A8V mobo before and the 7000 installed fine on it. No backplate issues. The backplate that came with the DFI NF4 Ultra was designed a little differently and that's where the problem arises. I wished I had a digital camera so I can post some pictures.

I have the 7000B-cual it came with backplate, but cannot get stock bp off my Asus A8V Deluxe, how'd you do it without cracking or scratching the mobo?

tbarfoot:

I have the 7000A and that didn't come with a backplate. So, I just use the backplate that came with the A8V and didn't have any problem whatsoever. Have you tried installing the 7000B on the A8V backplate?

I think for Europe you're suppose to contact the Zalman support in Korea.
The email I posted is only for the US.
Sorry, I didn't specify that before.

will it fit with Corcair value select in DIMM 4? I heard normal height memory works fine but what is normal height? New tech kinda sucks you don't know if such and such will fit and if memory is compatible with it.

You're right :-/, the screws are a little bit too short. Zalman answered me I have to contact their german distributor for an backplate. This distributor (WAVE/Alternate) likes selling new coolers, but won't give me one backplate ...
Everything lies in front of me, only this §$%$§%&§% backplate is missing.

you could try finding longer screws maybe?

also, with the 7000b can you not fit mem into slot 1 at all? considering the DFI just a question regarding future upgrade. i hear 2 and 4 are better to use first tho, right?

Crap, looks like I'll need a new HS+F. I have one of the first revisions of the 7000 without the backplate.

Guess I'll have to try a 7700 or XP-120.

TO END THIS THREAD.

YES THE ZALMAN 7000 COOLERS WILL FIT ONTO THE DFI NF4 ULTRA-D

YOU WILL BE ABLE TO FIT ANY RAM INTO SLOTS 2 + 4 WITH THE ZALMAN ON FIRST!

THE ZALMAN DOES NOT BLOCK ANY SLOTS, BESIDES THE SMALL CLEARANCE ABOVE THE ORANGE SLOT CLOSEST TO THE CPU (SLOT 4)

GG :D

The screws seem a little bit too tricky for me. Later I'll try to make a new backplate. A heavy isolated 3-4mm aluminium plate with two tapped holes should help and takes for sure not as much time as ordering a new cooler.

So would I be able to use Corsair XL PRO with LED's? They are a little taller than most modules.

No, I'm using them on the DFI board with the Zalman 7000B-Cu and they're too tall. Standard height modules will fit, however, with the XL Pro you'll have to use slots 1 and 3.
