Will a T-bird 1.2 GHz run on an old 200-Watt power supply?

I'm putting together my new system, but my power supply will not be here for another week or two (got in on special order). Anyway, everything else is here and ready to go. I'll be replacing a PII that was running on a 200W power supply. This is what will be in the new setup:

ABIT KT7-RAID mobo
1.2 GHz T-bird
Taisol CGK742092 HSF cooler (3-pin)
Gladiac GeForce2 GTS card (AGP)
120mm case fan (4-pin)
SB Live PCI card
Ethernet PCI card
3-year-old 10GB 5400 hard drive
4x2x24 CD-RW drive
32X CD-ROM drive
floppy drive
128 MB PC100 RAM

Right now, everything runs fine on the 200W PSU (everything listed above, except old Intel mobo, PII-400 processor, and whatever default HSF came with it). But will switching to the KT7, the 1.2 T-bird, and the Taisol cooler be too much? I know 250-300+ watts are recommended. Are there any risks of running everything on a weak 200 watt power supply like that?

I just need it to run on the 200W PSU for a week or two... but I don't want to put it all together, find out it doesn't work, and have to put all my old stuff back in. Any help would be great.

Thanks in advance...

Take this for what its worth.

I just upgraded a buddies computer with a Duron700 and new mobo. His case is three years old, with an OLD ATX 230W power supply. You can tell it's old cause it sucks air into the case instead of blowing it out. For some reason, this was the spec on early ATX pwr supplies. In any event, his system has been running without a hitch for a month or so despite the age of the power supply.

It's basically a crap shoot with old power supplies. I don't think overall wattage matters as much as the quality and stability of the incoming voltage. Still, even if it does work, I'd switch it out as soon as possible.

Unless your 200 watt PS is some kinda 300 watter in disguise, I suggest you wait.
Like you said, you;

it'll probably run - however, u might get some errors, crashes, etc. during heavy load when the system is straining the PSU...

i'd recommend upgradnig that beast/slut.

Just be carefully. If your PS feels too hot, they its unstresss. I recommend you don't right anything that CPU intense until you get your new PS or.. take out that any un-nessary peripahls

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I think I'll just wait till my Enermax 330-watter gets here. It's just the waiting that kills me! I have all this new nice stuff just SITTING THERE, staring at me, mocking me, each time I wait for my slow-ass Pentium II to startup.... :disgust: Ah well, it'll be worth the wait (and better for my machine) if I wait to put the right PSU in there. Thanks again for the input-
