Will a router affect Tracert programs?

I normally use UOTrace to check my internet connection.
I am in my new house, and have the home LAN set up, thanks to folks here, however, these pograms suggest that I am either set up incorrectly or the connect sucks here, with 30 percent PL.

Traceout should not be affected by the Router since it originates from your computer.

I am not familiar with the program that you are using.

Your traceroute should not be affected by the router in the sense that it will still trace correctly. However, you will see your router on it (ie. 192.168.0.1) and in some cases, there may be a long pause between when it finds the router and when it continues the trace.

just remember that traceroute uses UDP and ICMP. The SOHO firewall/router could indeed be blocking or slowing down trace route.

A good test would be taking the SOHO network device called a firewall by marketing genusies out of the mix.
