Will a P4 fit a MicroATX Chilli Pro 1/4" Case?

I am seriously considering getting the Chilli Pro mATX case with a P4 micro ATX motherboard, but am unsure whether it will fit or not. I remember reading somewhere that it wouldnt.

Anybody know for sure? And are there any reasons why it wouldnt fit?

I am basically trying to find a small aluminium case with two 5 1/4" drive bays (that being the only requirement, dont need floppy). Other than that new Coolermaster desktop case, the Chilli seems to be the only one that fits my needs. Unless anybody can recommend another?

 
No, I don't think the P4 with the retail heatsink/fan would fit under the powersupply of the Chilli Pro. (although, if you had a low profile P4 fan.. it might work)

I have a Chilli Pro case and had a hard time finding a HSF which was small enough, but efficient enough, to cool underneath the powersupply.

..plus the Chilli Pro is a pain to work with.. the clearances are very minimal and the interior space is very tight
 
Do you reckon if I got a Micro ATX power supply in there, rather than a standard one, they both might fit? This seems like the perfect case to me, and I am only really considering P4 at the moment, so it would be a bit of a blow.
 
I don't think that the mounting holes for an ATX powersupply and mATX are the same.

Do you have your P4 and heatsink already. How tall is it?

Also.. the Chilli Pro mATX and ATX are essentially the same case

DIMENSIONS
mATX: 15.5"(H)x7"(W)x10.5"(D)
ATX : 16" (H) x7"(W)x10.5"(D)

The major difference is the mATX has TWO external 5.25" and two external 3.5"
..while the ATX has only ONE external 5.25" and two external 3.5"
 
Nah, I havent got the P4 yet, I havent got the P4 yet, I was thinking of doing all this in the summer sometime. And I really need the two drive bays, otherwise I would get the ATX version. Thanks for your help anyways.
 
I have a chilli pro ATX, and I didn't have any problem with an Athlon system, but I don't know about an intel system.

I do know that I fit an old P2-400 (the big cartridge kind) on an Intel 440BX MB in my chilli case. I had about half a centimeter to spare till I was touching the PS, but it fit - the cool thing about that setup was NO FANS. 😀

So I don't know if the P4's are bigger than the old P2 cartridges but if they are then I'd say it's a no go.


Personally, I love the case to death. It's lame to work with, but it's a really effective design and the contruction is pretty much bomber.

Death to big ugly beige boxes. 😀
