Will a new fan help lower my motherboard temperature?

I have the Asus P5W DH Deluxe motherboard. When I check the temps, it shows that my motherboard is running hot. I had it RMA'd out for another one and it looks like I'm having the same problem.

I have the LIAN LI PC-6070Bplus II Case

The case comes with 3 80mm fans and 1 120mm fan.

I also have an ATI 1900XT graphics card. I have no idea why the motherboard temperature right now is at 53 degrees in idle. I just put the new motherboard in, and it seems to keep rising.

Is there a fan that I could get that would lower the motherboard temperature? Or would that only work for CPU Temps?

Yes, fans always lower temperatures. Asus sells a fan specifically for that motherboard: link. And no, that fan is NOT for your cpu, it's for your northbridge chipset (motherboard).

that fan comes with the motherboard. I saw it but it says right on it NOT to install it unless I have a passive cooler or Watercooler ONLY. You can see the sticker in that picture. Is there something else I could use? I'm thinking it could be my power supply being too hot. I have an Antec 500W I believe, it seems like it could be running hot, not sure.

Is there some way to check the temp of the power supply?

If not are there any fans I could get?

I wish I had a power supply I could swap it with so I could see, but I don't

Okay, first of all, your power supply's temperature has absolutely nothing to do with the temperature of your northbridge chipset. And yes, any small fan, that isn't very thick will cool your northbridge, assuming that's what's actually hot. I've always used a 40mm fan from Slot 1/Slot A processors for my northbridges, and the temps usually go down about 12-15°C, on motherboards with passive northbridge cooling.

Ill definitely keep that in mind, thanks; where would I put the fan though? I'm not sure if there are any real spots for me to put it.

Super glue will hold it anywhere you want it. You'd have to either put it between the northbridge and the video card, or put it on the heatsink, directly below your case exhaust fan.

My LLs run pretty cool with 120mm YL add-ons. My mobos 26C/33C temps are determined by ambients.
