Will a mini display port to VGA work on a mac that has thunderbolt?

I have my bosses design derps coming tomorrow for a meeting and I have my mini display port to VGA for my macbook pro mid 2010 and they supposedly have a macbook air with thunderbolt. Will my adapter work for VGA so I can connect to a projector?

Per Apple's page for their MiniDP - VGA adapter:

Compatible with Mac computers with Mini DisplayPort and Thunderbolt ports

They don't make Thunderbolt > display adapters, so it makes sense that it would work.
