Topic pretty much says it all. I am looking into getting a new case and power supply. I've found the case, but was wondering if the ENERMAX EG301P would provide enough power for my system.

Specs:

Radeon 9200
Athlon 64 3500+ w/ stock hsf
2 Ide Hard Drives both 7200
1 Sata 7200
NEC 2500a
Vantec ThermaFlow 92mm Case Fan

Do you think that PSU would be adaquate? I might add hard drives later, would that be a concern?

Btw, this is the case http://www.xpcgear.com/aluminum.html

Thanks for any help

Using the calculator, it says my min supply should be 287, and when I add another drive it jumps over 300. I think i'm just gonna stay on the safe side and get a 400w+. Any specific ones you guys recommend? I want it to be quiet, but it doesn't have to be like a mouse, just not roaring loud.

I was looking at the next step Enermax up, and it looked pretty good. But I also noticed the Thermaltake TR2 W0070 430W and it looked better for about $20 bucks less. I think I'm gonna go with the ThermalTake.

Thanks guys.

A definite "YES". I had successfully ran a Prescott 3GHz, 1GB RAM, a 9800 Pro and 2 hard drives with a HEC 300W with only 15A on the 12V rail. Your system is certainly far less power consuming than mine, so it will be ok.

Second that. I run a 3500+ oc'ed to 2.43, 1GB RAM, X700 Pro and 2 7200rpm hard drives on a Seasonic 300W with 18A on the +12V. 22A on the +12V is a very high spec for a 300W PS.

Using a kill-a-watt my maximum watt pull on 3dmark05 runs was 246 watts and around 240 at startup. I have the following hardware:
-A64 @ 2.6 GHz(1.55v)
-3 7200 PATA drives
-1 Raptor
-1DVDRW
-2 DIMMS
-two pci tuners
-1 sblive audigy
-6800GT AGP
-2 120mm fans
-1 water pump.
-3-4 usb devices

That was from the wall, since psu's are not 100% efficent my actual load on the PSU was probably around 220-230. That being said, the amps on the rails are very important. If you checkout slientpc's guide they say the same thing. As it stands my Antec 350 looks like it still has a lot of overhead. So I would take a high-quality 300w with good rails over a decent 400w any day.
