Will a 3.06GHz P4 work with an Asus P4B266-C board?

Title says it all. I know the P4B266-C shouldn't have problems with a 166MHz FSB but will it recognize a 3.06GHz P4 correctly? Also, do you guys remember how to lock AGP/PCI speeds on this board?

Yes it should see it & run it fine,as for the lock it think in this board you lock it with Turbo1 turbo 2 setting in bios.

Turbo 1 locks it at 37/74MHz, Turbo 2 locks it "somewhat higher" according to people that claim to know but no one's ever come up with ann actual number. I always set my P4B266 at "Turbo 1".

The AGP/PCI lock has always been questionable on that board. USB ports dont work when overclocked, so that tells you something. There is no Hyperthreading support either.

Hmmm, I think I'll just tell my friend he needs to just bite the bullet and get an 865PE or 875P board. Or, just wait for the new Prescott boards to come out.

Thanks for the info guys!!
