Will 2-3 D-Con type mice poison bait blocks kill a dog?

I've got mouse problems, so I set a few dcon-type bait blocks outside around the house. The mice are living in our landscaping. Anyway, I heard some digging around out there today and sure enough there was a dog out there poking around in the landscaping. I scared it off but took a look around after and a few of the blocks are completely gone now.

The dog was pretty big (a lab maybe) and I'm thinking it was a neighbors from down the street.

Am I going to have this dog's life weighing on my conscience?

It might. In my experience the poison that's designed for mice won't even kill large rats though, so there's a good chance he'll survive if he ate some.

bait poisons need to be placed where the things you don't want to kill can't be baited.

What's your problem. The neighbor let a large dog roam the neighborhood, digging in other people's yard. The owner of the dog is definitely at fault if the dog eats something it shouldn't.

The owners are wrong, I agree. But the dog is innocent and doesn't deserve to die.

When I was a kid our neighbor sued us because they said our dog would not stop barking and gave thier $6000 poodle cancer from stress.

The evidence was them standing on the side of our house with a video camera video taping the dog.

What this has to due with the OP, I have no idea. Oh yea, prepare to get sued.

If you want a real answer, call poison control in your area and ask. I'm pretty sure that will kill a dog, though.

I think most people aren't saying the dog deserves to die. It's just not the OP's fault if it dies.

Feeling bad about the dog dying is not the same as feeling responsible for the death.
