it doesn't seem like they are doing much to secure their trash/garbage, which is what the boars are looking for...or is that too obvious of a first step to get this problem under control?

Rome has had waste disposal issues for years and they've gotten worse over the last decade. Corruption, lack of planning, and municipal incompetence all seem to play significant roles. The pigs are just a symptom of that.

"Killer seagulls," lol.

I wish they we had tasty animals roaming our neighborhoods instead of coyotes and raccoons. Just saying I know a solution to their wild boar problem and it ends with a big bbq.

I lived in Rome in the late 90's and this must be a 21st century problem. I certainly would have remembered wild porcine running the streets even with all the good and inexpensive wine we had available!

I guess they'll have an excuse to buy a gun, now that there are between 30-50 feral hogs roaming the streets.

You sure it wasn't Boers?

although my money would be on wild bores, we all know they have plenty in Euro zones.
