Wiimote "Plus" still needed?

Howdy,

I got a Wii a year or so ago and it came with the "Plus" part on the controller. My parents just got a Wii for Christmas and it didn't come with the "Plus" part.

Someone said it wasn't needed any more and it's built in now or something but I hadn't heard that so I just wanted to check. Can anyone confirm if it's still needed or not?

Thanks.

if your parents got a newer wii then it has the wiimote with the built in motion plus. those have been out for sometime now.

i actually need the small adapter for a preowned wii i just bought and those things are nowhere to be found b&m, probably gonna have to resort to ebay.

OK. The size of the one they have is the size of the original Wii, so it's short, compared to mine with the Plus part that sticks on the end. I was just concerned they needed to go buy the Plus attachment on their own or something.

The new ones have it built in and don't have the plus attachment.

im pretty sure they actually say "motion+" or something on them.

and if they got the one that came w/NSMB and doesn't play GC games, then im 100% certain it has the motion+ in the controller. my friend brought his over 2 weeks ago and we modded it, and that is when i found out those controllers had them built into them, and thats why i also think i remember it saying "motion+" or something as well on it.

New official Nintendo controllers come with Wii Motion Plus built in, no attachment, and there is a label on the bottom front of the controller.

They might have gotten a knock-off controller that doesn't have Motion Plus built in. That happened to my wife's aunt who bought a Wii (she got the controller from QVC, lol). Luckily I recognized that her second controller wasn't an official one and she was able to return it.
