I'm a little dissapointed that the Nintendo Wii is debuting at $250. I thought Nintendo was promising a budget box? 😕

Of course, everyone wants to get the $400 Xbox if possible, but I was thinking about the Nintendo Wii vs. the $300 Xbox, and I think I might rather have the Xbox.

Can you play Gears of War with the budget box? ... YES. Just get the Xbox 360 and if you decide it is as awesome as it is...then you can always buy add ons later on to get on Xbox Live and whatnot...where the system REALLY shines.

Do you want to play Gears of War from the beginning every time you turn on your 360? NOOO

$30 memory card. Problem solved.

But then we're not talking about a $300 xbox, we're talking about a $330 xbox. 🙂 If you never plan on using Live, then I agree the core is probably the better option, otherwise it's ridiculous.

Oh no I totally agree with you too. 🙂 I wouldn't buy a Core (except one for $100) to save my life.

Is this Xbox thing for next Thursday? And it's at 1 P.M., right?
You gotta vote for it, but I'm fairly certain it will beat out the other stuff. If it wins, it will be available at 1pm EST on Thanksgiving. They'll announce the winner the day before.

The reason I asked is because of this:

"The winner will go on sale Thursday at 11 a.m. Pacific Time Be here!"

Either I'm lost or that would mean 2 P.M. EST.

D'oh, sorry, for some reason I was thinking Central time. 2pm EST is right.

The Wii IS a budget system.

That cannot even play a dvd ...
There's plenty of good arguments against the Wii, but this isn't one of them. If you're buying a $250 game machine, you already have or can afford a $20 DVD player.

I would want my game system to play a DVD.

Because I'm both lazy and ignorant...what *can* I do with the core Xbox, and can it be fully upgraded to the same level as the "Premium" one?

Is the only thing you need to do is add the HD for $100 at some point down the line and you have the same features as the $400 one?

Wii can't play DVDs ?!?!?! NOOOOOOOOOO, I've been waiting like 12 years for the Wii to come out so I could watch all these DVDs I've saved up over the years. What am I going to do now!! WHAT AM I GOING TO DO.

$300 Core + $100 HDD != $400 Premium. I'm too lazy to list all the items and what they cost, people have done the list many times in the past. The Wifi is one of the items.

yeah, premium for 300 and core for 200 at microcenter. 🙂

anyone know of any hacks/mods that allow you to play japanese region games? me wants idolm@ster. 🙁

I don't think they know about that! HEHE.

uhmm, I can afford all 3 systems, xbox360, wii, ps3...but the likeliness of getting a ps3 anytime soon isnt too high....a 360 doesnt look too fun for me...the games they have I would rather play on my PC..,I will pick up a wii though, thing looks awesome.
