Wii Updates/downloads take forever?

Does anyone else have this problem? I'm almost sure it's a wifi issue, but don't feel like shelling out $30 for the LAN adapter just to test it. Mainly because the ps3 takes forever to update and it's hardwired too... but the computer that is on the same switch is fine.

Anyone using wifi find it terribly slow (like 20 minutes to update slow)? Any wired users out there want to chime in?

When I had my Wii, I had the exact same issue. The WiFi was terrible. I had to constantly move the console around to get it to the perfect spot. And it was right by another wireless device that had no issues at all.

I was going to get the LAN adapter and hook it up to the same wireless bridge my 360 was connected to with no problems, but I got rid of the system before I did that.

Yes, I've had the same issue. The Wii is terribly slow downloading anything. It makes the Nintendo Channel pretty much worthless since the videos take forever to initially start playing and even then have to constantly stop to buffer.

I've never had problems with my Wii

But seriously, my Wii is about 10' from my router and while it is slow sometimes, I never get hiccups and my Nintendo Channel videos load just fine.

my wii is 10' from my router too.. just, upwards. I'll probably bite the bullet and see how well wired works.

Change channels on your router/access point to 1, 6, 11. If you have other people in your area you're most likely seeing interference from them or your cordless phones.

Yes, I'm also using wireless. My Wii is usually located right next to my 360, which doesn't have any speed issues.

My Wii actually only connects on 3,4,11 i think. anything else and it's the only thing that can't see the router.
