Wii still a good choice for parents?

So the Wii U is coming out next year but the Wii is still going strong. I've thought about getting one for my parents for Christmas. My mom plays Facebook games but that's about it. She loves to dance though so I've been thinking of grabbing a Wii with Zumba fitness for her.

They're definitely not gamers. I'd like something that would get them active during the winter months. Both are in their late 50s. What do you guys think? Still a good idea to get one?

if they like mini and casual games, and those dancing games, you might as well. pretty sure wii is on sale for $99 friday at more than 1 place.

Nintendo has said they plan on keeping the original Wii on sale alongside the Wii U. Who knows how long that will last though.

Aside from the one time I demoed it to her, my Mom has never used the Wii I got her once. Still though, I think it makes as good of an idea to buy one as ever. Unless your Mom has expressed a particular interest in the Zumba Fitness game, I would just get a used copy of Wii Sports or Wii Sports Resort to start them out with.

I ended up getting the Wii Motion Plus system bundled with Wii Sports and Resort. I think my mom will like it. She enjoyed playing around with my Move and has wanted a Wii for ages. It's my dad that will take some convincing, though it does have golf on it.

Got a second controller so they can play together.

Well, I made a good choice. Had my doubts but my mom is loving it. Even my dad was having a good time playing Wii golf. Though I didn't buy it for myself, there may be some Skyward Sword in my future too. 🙂
