Wii Remote Jacket Accessory Offer

Why the heck don't they auto-populate the damn Wii serial number that I have already registered? Argh.

I tried to ordered 4 but the page never came up after I hit submit. Not sure I really need these but hey they could come in handy. I really think Nintendo is going overboard with the whole flying wiimote thing, I've haven't had any issues with the wiimote trying to break free.

*edit*
Someone posted these links in the comments on Dailytech, looks like the offer is for more than just US and Canada.

Its worldwide (or soon to be). Wiimote face clubbing is the universal language.

I got the flashing blue light this afternoon on the Wii. I was hoping it was a new update or channel...

Anyway I really have no use for these "jackets", but there free. I haven't had any problems with Wii Remotes getting tossed around or the wrist straps breaking.

See my post up there? I'm in the UK.

I'm not lucky enough to be in the UK.. Just to access any online content from my Wii I have to set it to UK because the monopoly bastards here have done nothing except rise the price of wii games to the same as ps3 and xbox360.

I think I might call them since this is truly international now.

anyone gotten theirs?

Sorry to hear that. 🙁

I'm still not sure why youd actually want one, unless you're unable to hold on to your controllers. Theyre absolutely fugly imo.

It's free, and every one likes free stuff even if it is crap. I figure I can put them on the remotes that some of my less attentive friends use.

Is this really a problem? Do the wrist straps still not work?

No, there isn't a problem, its only idiots that have the problem. However, with Nintendo absolutely rolling in money right now it doesn't hurt them to go ahead and cover all their bases and thus eliminate any excuses the idiots would have of blaming Nintendo for their own stupidity.

Thus far Nintendo has beefed up the wrist straps to avoid breaking, and now they're adding cushioning to the hard remotes. Of course there are always warning all over the place (in documents and on screen before/while games load) to make sure you have a clear space to play and that you're wearing the strap.

I'm going ahead and putting in an order for mine just because it is free and you never know when it might come in handy (probably would be more comfortable mixing alcohol with Wii gaming with these jackets)

I suppose.

On the bright side, given that nintendo is willing to drop all that cash on silly coverings, I imagine a new wiimote with a better grip, rounder edges and a hopefully better button placement cant be too far around the corner. With a wireless nunchuk, pretty please. 😛

Then again, theyd have to redesign all their silly little peripherals, so maybe not. But I can dream. As much fun as it is, the Wiimote is an ergonomic nightmare.

I think I just ordered 8 by accident 😱 It gave me a bad request 404 2 times on English, same on French site. Ordered 4 or 2 each time 😱

I got my Jackets today, and they make the Wii Remotes kind of bulky. Not sure I'll continue to use them since the Wii Remote is more comfortable without the Jacket. It does add grip in cause you have trouble with "flying" Wii Remotes.

If you use a charge station like the Nyko one you will have to remove the Jackets to put the Wii Remotes on the charge stand.

I used wiimotes with the cover this weekend they weren't too bad but I prefer my wiimotes to be all natural.

I'm not even sure my order went through, I kept getting errors while trying to submit and then it said I already ordered. I suppose I'll find out next time I'm home.
