The Wii fit is a hot item, I expect it is, and will be, developed for by 3rd parties too. So, give it time, and you will likely see software similar to what you desire become available for it.

I believe I read about a month ago that a workout game which is focused more on Western Style exercises is being developed or is at least in the planning stages for development.

I lost a ton of weight doing only body weight exercises and cardio. To be exact, going to a Brazilian jiu-jitsu class for a few months. We would do lunges, sprawls, crunches, jogging, pushups, stretching, and of course the movements related to the art itself and sparing (great cardio/strength workout). You would be amazed how cut you can get from just body weight exercises. Right now I'm working on getting better at head stand pushups. I can only do 10 at at time. I want to get it up to 20 or 30 a set.
