Streaming netflix however is awesome.

The only thing XBOX Live did on the original XBOX was online gaming (with friends list and chatting.) The original XBOX Live implementation was very rough around the edges. The full XBOX Live integration into the 360 is actually quite revolutionary. One stop for all of your gaming and multimedia needs.

Also, the XBOX 360 introduced Achievements, which are all the rage nowadays. See: PS3 trophies, WOW achievements, Steam achievements...eh, sorry, no Wii achievements!

In before Wii fanbois: "But I don't care about achievements! They are stupid!"

Achievements/trophies also get a fair amount of grief, but I'd say they are probably one of the biggest innovations from this generation. I love me some meta-gaming.

I think this is also one of the reasons I don't use my Wii often, despite having a few games I haven't even touched yet. My 360 just keeps pulling me back with Achievements and the whole Xbox Live experience (since all of my friends have an Xbox). Unfortunately this is also true for my PS3, since I don't have any PSN friends.

Nothing you listed hasn't been done already. There is nothing ground breaking about any of it.

Yup, there was so much online gaming on consoles before XBOX Live, and there were just so many consoles that had an online marketplace, online movies, streaming video, friends lists, chatting on a console, etc. in the console market before XBOX Live. Sure, buddy.

Classic sign of an ignorant fanboi: dismissing facts with one blanket statement that actually doesn't disprove anything.

Yeah, I'm quite a fanboi. I own a 360, not a Wii you tool.

Face facts, fucktard. All of the things that you say are innovative have been around in one form or another for a long time. Sorry, but gluing together pre-existing ideas is hadrly innovative.

No, multicore is not innovative. A console is just a special purpose computer so moving PC technology to a console is natural evolution, not innovation.

And are you seriously going to try to call anti-aliasing innovative?

All that has been done is take technology from the PC side and bring it to the console.

Hi, this is the Console Gaming forums. Where we discuss console gaming, not PC gaming. PC Gaming forum is that way -->

All of these things you readily dismiss are in fact innovative FOR CONSOLES. I don't know how to make it any clearer for you. Maybe if I drew some pictures or something?
