Wii available (toys r us online)

Man, those are some terrible bundles... no wonder they are not selling.

Most of those bundles are basically offering the Wii, 2 games, and a 1 GB memory card.

Since the games are about $50 each, even the cheapest bundle is basically selling the memory card for $50+. That's terrible since the memory card is just an SD card. You can find a 2 GB SD card for Free after rebate, or ~ $20 without rebate.

The "party" bundle doesn't even come with extra controllers!

ARGH! I want a Wii!

I'm upset that Nintendo lets them do this. Nintendo should ship their stock to other stores instead of ones like this trying to rip off their customers with crappy accessories and unwanted games.

are wii's really that hard to find still? i thought the frenzy had kinda died, as all the stores that sell video games around me have them in stock. i got lucky and found a used one at one of my video game stores for 150 bucks, a few weeks ago. i couldn't believe it.

Yeah, I just had one in my cart, about to buy it then I looked at the final total of $476. Not worth it to me. I'll wait another month or 2.

wii availablilty seems to depend on your area. Here in the portland area they are still pretty scarce. They can be found but sell out quickly. Friend got one about 2 weeks back. Local target got a shipment of 100. Gave out tickets to the line that formed before they were open and sold them all out with in half an hour of opening. I managed to get an order in on Sears.com and should be getting mine today or tomorrow based on the tracking right now.

The only bundle I've seen that really looked any good was the Costco one.

The Wii memory cards and extended waranties usually make them pretty bad deals.

It's ironic how the Wii is supposed to be appealing due to it's attractive price but all these retailers are bundling it with lame games and over priced accessories.

You can't really blame the retailers for bundles. The money they make is in selling the games and accessories, they make hardly nothing on the console sale itself. While a console is still in demand, you can find people who will buy the bundle to get the console. That's why bundles go away after the console is in supply.

That will never happen, because stores lose money on systems, but make lots on games.. so for as long as they can.. they will package games with systems to make money.. developers like nintendo know this.. and let it slide.

Eventually you'll get a Wii without a package, cause the people dying to have one will go away and there will be less demand and Stores can't pull this crap then.

edit: yeah, like blurredvision said.

Stopped in at my local Target (MN) today and they said they were going to have a shipment coming in and going on sale 2/11/07. I was told they would start handing out tickets at 7am. Still very much in demand in this neck of the woods.

to be fair, selling bundles helps make sure that the consoles get to people who actually want to play it, not turn around and rip someone off on ebay - where you pay the same price only for no extras...

actually, everything was there. even the wii sports game, never even opened. its just the store's (hastings) policy, that when you sell something back to them, or trade it in towards something else, they resell it at a nice price. in the case of the kid that traded his wii in, he was stepping up to the ps3. i'd call it stepping down, since my wii gets a lot more playing time than my ps3. i also bought his used copy of zelda for 35 bucks.

Yeah still pretty scarce here as well. Looks like they are still going for $320-350 on ebay.
