I got it for the girl and believe it or not it really works you. Sure, it's a video game but it makes exercising fun and does a good job of tracking everything. The exercises really do run the gamut of working certain muscle groups and cardio. You WILL be sweating and heart rate in a target range.

If it worked with some of the wireless heart rate monitors out there that would probably be perfect like some of the nicer exercise machines do.

Good to know. I'm also mildly interested in Wii Fit Plus for the stretching and balance exercises to supplement my Lifecycle and dumbbells, have you tried it too?

There aren't enough Wii games that are must-play for me (not a Mario or Zelda fan) so I need some other excuse to add a Wii to my PC, PS2, PS3 and 360 :)

Are you talking about EA Sports Active? Yeah, that's supposed to actually give you a pretty good workout. One of the complaints of the original was that it didn't do enough work out with your core muscles. Supposedly, the sequel "More Workouts" solves this issue.

I got my wife the Wii Fit Plus for Christmas because she wanted to try the Yoga exercises. Of course, she hurt her back the week before Christmas and is still in too much pain to give it a try. It is sitting unopened. :(

Sorry, yes, that's what I'm talking about. Active works you much more, wii-fit is more about balance/yoga. We have both.

She'll come in from a 30 minute run, rest/stretch some and then hit the Wii. It will wear her out even if she doesn't run.
