4 people live in my house and play our Wii
most games only have 3 save game slots, like Fishing Master

is there any way to manage 4 different peoples save games easily on a single Wii?

i have an SD card in it and copied the save games to it, but it doesn't seem like this will be easy. it seems i'll have to copy/delete/copy each time the 4th person wants to play and will i have to use 2 different SD cards? it doesn't really let you pick which block the save goes to, so it looks like you can't have more than one save game block for each game on each SD card

thanks for any ideas. we'd just buy a second Wii if they were available

Just have everyone buy their own SD card and make sure they manage their saves that way - while tedious it would eliminate the extra tedious task of making sure all 4 saves are properly divided between the Wii's memory and less than 4 SD cards and it would certainly be much cheaper/easier than trying to find another Wii.

Another trick would be to try and determine games where 1 or more of you might not care too much about and then try to share a save slot or something.

This is a game design flaw that has annoyed me in recent years. We have boundless space in terms of game saves that only take a few megabytes, yet we have a limited number of slots to use.

As an RPG player, I like to stagger my saved games in case some bug causes my progress to be frozen indefinitely (*cough* Zelda: TP Shad Bug *cough*). And sometimes I like to stagger my saves just because I want to replay games from certain points. Mass Effect only allowed 10 save spots, which is probably about 40 less than I would have normally used. I bought an Elite w/120GB Hard Drive for a reason, gosh darnit!

thanks bunnyfubbles, that sounds like the only short term solution before buying an upstairs Wii

i have plenty of 64MB and 128MB SD cards
