hey... i was wondering.... i have a toshiba satellite laptop with 802.11 b wifi .. i was wondering...if went to a place which is a WIFI hotspot like an airport or a coffee place ( starbucks ) what are the steps to follow so as to surf the net?????

Some have different steps, but they are posted. Most often you just point your browser to a web page and it will ask you to pay and/or login.
