It's still too early in the price discovery phase for Android tablets, the tablet to get now is the Nook Color, IMO. It's already selling for close to or below it's cost to make.
It's not that it's a faked image, it's just in a demo store where they setup/design new product displays, and then they take pictures of those to send out to other stores, to show them how to do it.
I'm betting that's going to be the real price. They could have easily just left the sign blank, as it's not crucial to the setup. I think we can bank on $539 for the Wi-Fi Xoom from Sam's Club.
On a sidenote, this is what gripes me. My bro is graduating from college in May and I want to get him a tablet (he's been dying for one). But having no idea when this comes out hurts, whereas the iPad releases next week with a bunch of diff configs. This would easily get snatched up, if it weren't for lack of info or any other options available at all. Just, bad way to try to compete if your launch is fucking retarded.
