whats up guys

im trying to set up a wireless network in my house and ive hooked in a belkin wireless card and it seems to be fine, t finds my network and connects to it, but I dont get on the internet.......!!!

can someone help me out my aim name is dashxs that'd be great if not can someone point me in the right direction?

Is the 0.0.0.0 IP address the address you are getting on on your computer, or on the router?

If that's the IP address on the router, that means your router is not communicating with your DSL provider. Most of the time this happens when you have not configured the router with the correct PPPoE settings (your DSL account user name and password). Log in to the router and look for an option for Internet Connection Type or something similar, and change it to PPPoE. Enter your DSL user name and password and save the settings. Unplug power to your DSL modem and your router, plug back in the modem and wait for the lights to turn on, then plug the router back in. If you configured everything correctly, the connection should work properly after that.

If the 0.0.0.0 IP address is on your computers, that usually means they are not communicating properly with the router. This is most often caused by a weak or unstable connection. Check for interference in your house, such as 2.4Ghz cordless phones, thick stone walls, steel framing, steel cabinets, etc., and eliminate any interference that you can. Log in to the router and make sure that DHCP is enabled and change the channel on the router (try channels 1, 6, and 11) to find a channel that gives you a better connection.
 
I did all of that, and Im on a wireless laptop rite next to the PC............... the IP is on the computer.
 
Does it work if you plug into the router with a cable or does that nto work either? If that works, then it's simply your wireless connection. Best thing to do is turn OFF any and all security measures (WEP, SSID Hiding, MAC Filtering, etc) and then see if you can connect to the wide open router. If that works, then start turning the security items back on one by one until you find what isn't working.
