Wifi card to connect to Pocket PC

I have a microsoft MN710 Wireless USB adapter. I was just wondering if there was any way to use this to directly connect to my Axim X5, which uses a D-Link DCF-660W CF wireless card.

Would syncing work? Or must I connect my axim to a wireless router, which is connected to my USB adapter?

You could probably setup an adhoc network between your desktop and your axim and than use that to sync your axim (activesync does network syncs).

I've never tried it, but dont see why it wouldnt work.

I am not familiar with the Axim.

I have an iPaq, and a D-Link CF. The iPaq can connect to Wireless Network (Ad-Hoc too). Once connected its act like any other Ethernet device, and can use the Internet and share File. No need for ActiveSync.
