I have no experience with the Genesis, but for $3,000 more I could have a G37. I guess that's a bit smaller, but, egh...?

What about the subaru outback? I was looking for a small suv last year, cross shopped many of the usual suspects (crv, rav4, rogue, tucson, forester, equinox, patriot, cx-5, escape, etc). Outback was significantly larger inside than many of them, with better interior quality than most, less noisy, and about the same price ultimately. It's not very agile, and pretty slow when it comes to raw numbers, but it's comfortable and practical with decent fuel economy.

Well, we ended up with a Rav4. Her family - all drive Toyota - have been telling her how terrible the other brands are. She believed them and we went to the local Toyota dealer and got a 2014 Red Rav4. I sworn she said she hated it when we checked it out during the Auto Show back in April.. Oh well, at least wife is happy now.
